Member-only story
Over here, I wrote about the problem with “How To Write” and “How To Make Money” articles.
The problem lies in people’s vulnerabilities.
Doe-eyed newbies want to learn.
Passionate people with the innate desire to make money doing what you love will tend to take in anything. (Come on, admit it. You want an audience for your craft. You want success in mainstream terms. You want the admiration from others.)
Is it truly their fault though?
Not really.
Because the so-called teachers out there take advantage of these vulnerabilities.
And yes, they do lie.
They straight up tell untruths.
They do scam and try to get away with it.
They’ve no qualms about this.
When they’re not exactly lying, they’re appealing through the lowest common denominator.
This is done through copywriting.
This is done through NLP.
This is done through putting themselves up on a pedestal, which is easily done because you can say anything you want on the internet.
Don’t fall for this. Nothing fulfilling comes easily in life, and you definitely can’t make it any easier just because others out there say you can (at a price.)
