Member-only story
A couple of months ago, I was hunting online to buy a new phone, particularly the Iphone 14 Pro.
I was searching for it through a third-party app where people could upload their own shit and sell them. Brand new phones do indeed get listed there and it’s always cheaper than retail.
I spotted the phone. It was like $200 cheaper than the market rate. I was intrigued, of course.
Long story short, it turned out to be a scam. The seller tried to insist that I send the money first before he sent the phone over.
In trying to find out if it was a scam or not, I did at one point reply, “Sorry man, but I would be more comfortable if we met up and I give you cash on the spot.”
I shared this with my friends.
One friend asked, “Why did you even say sorry?”
I kind of knew someone would have a problem with this, like it is the only thing which stood out.
It’s almost like blasphemy to some.
You shouldn’t fucking apologize for shit when you’re not in the wrong!
