I remember the time when Despicable Me 2 was released in theatres a few years ago. You know, that movie with minions? The yellow pieces of shit?
Then a friend wrote on Facebook:
“Wow! Just watched Dispicable Me 2! The concept of minions is such a brilliant one! Such great marketing as the company use them to market the movie!”
And other bullshit.
I cringed reading that shit.
Why must entrepreneurs make everything about marketing?!
Why must everything you do with others be a transactional one?!
Why must the only end goal of whatever you do be about money?!
Why can’t you shut up and just enjoy the fucking movie?!
It gets annoying as hell.
Oh, there’s nothing wrong with being driven and motivated to create businesses and shit so you can live a good life, but come on, this line alone is some self-serving bullshit right there, especially if you think if you’re super inspiring and helpful.
And it becomes a real problem when you lose your humanity.
This is when you say shit like:
“Never do anything for free.”
Really? Never? You’re going to charge a homeless person? A person suffering from cancer? A starving kid in Africa?
“My time isn’t free.”
Only selfish, pretentious fucks talk like that. Every single person on earth plays by the rules of time. If you want to charge for your time, make damn sure you give something valuable in the first place. I have no idea how many worthless folks I’ve encountered who dared drop this line but they offer nothing valuable.
“Treat everything you do like a business.”
If you think every menial task is a business to you, you have mental problems and nobody likes you.
“I am better than those average people who are working their lousy eight-to-five jobs.”
No, you’re not. The fact that you think so goes to show how weak a person you really are.
Please, do your own shit, work hard, but stop talking shit.
Nobody wants to hear it anymore.
