What I Learnt From Attending One Of Those Cringey “How To Make Money Online” Seminars

I went for one of those “How to make money online easily” courses over a decade over. You know, the Google Ads/SEO days.

The speaker’s strategy was basically creating your website for cheap thanks to outsourcing, SEO the shit out of it, use Google Ads and boom, money from affiliates and Ad Sense.

One middle-aged dude in class, raised his hand halfway through the course and said, “I don’t have email.”

And yeah, he’s an old-gen Asian dude. English was obviously not his first language.

I did not see it then, but so many life lessons just sprung from there:

. Not everyone is meant to do their own thing or even create a side hustle. They’re simply not capable or the time and effort it takes wouldn’t make sense.

. It’s henceforth perfectly okay to get a job, earn your own keep at your own pace and be happy from it.

. There’s really no such thing as making money easily. There’s definitely no such thing as a guarantee either.

. These courses are a thinly-veiled multi-level marketing scheme in which the earlier and dare I say, more intelligent guys will win. They will sponge off the later noobs as they prey on their greed and desire for easy money.

. However, this niche is evergreen and filled with demand. It’s your job to filter the bullshit.

. Creators, it’s your job to serve and be your most honest.

Oh, the course above was like $2000 for a weekend. I was made to go only because of my boss back then who didn’t know better.
