Or cooking every day.

Singing every day.

Dancing every day.

Doing push-ups every day.

Talking to girls every day.

Whatever.

I spoke to a friend of mine recently. He now helms the title of head chef wherever he goes.

He told me, “Whatever it is you want to do, you have to pay for it.”

He spent a whole year in Australia as a apprentice chef (whatever you call it) in a kitchen. He slept in a car. He carried out menial tasks every day while being abused.

And that’s the secret ingredient when it comes to consistency.

It’s not just about simply calling it practice and repetition so you become better as you hone your skills.

It’s about doing it over and over because it’s the right thing to do.

It feels like shit though.

It’s boring.

It feels meaningless at times as you question yourself.

But you do it anyway.

Then one day, that secret ingredient comes to you.

It’s not even an eureka moment.

It’s not a huge revelation like in the movies.

It’s not like you’ll see mad, viral results in the foreseeable future too, so please ignore all the gurus out there.

It’s something you look back on and be thankful for because you know you have grown.

That’s how you learn actual things and become better.

Just by doing.
