The Problem With “How To Write” And “How I Make Money” Articles

1. Writers who write about how to write are like marketers who market marketing. That’s literally all do they do. There is no art hence imagination and authenticity at all. You can’t succeed this way.
2. These types of articles bind new writers into thinking that they must follow what they read or else they can’t succeed. This is not true at all. This only turns you into another sheep.
3. The network these types of writers have all operate the same way as their content is literally all the same. It’s a huge circle jerk where they congratulate each other for succeeding in their own, same type of business. Nothing new is ever created and the industry stagnates.
4. These writers and their articles perpetuate the idea that in order to succeed, you must follow the rules, traditions and whatever industrial trends that are currently out there. This is not true. Life is unpredictable and chaotic. Art is always evolving while individualistic. What works for them may not necessarily work for you.
5. It’s too easy to create a long ass article teaching people how to write or make money. You just need to list a bunch of ideas without going into detail or injecting any honesty in them. A ton of words does not mean the content is actually good, just like how a viral video on TikTok with millions of likes can actually be pretty cringy and stupid.
6. These writers only want you to buy their shit so they can take your money. A real writer who cares about his craft will want to create something only he or she can create for the world. That is their first goal. They would want to succeed with an audience too, but they are not deceptive or scummy about it.
