Some Thoughts Of Being Privileged In Life Since Young

. I was born privileged. My parents did well in life and so I had a big house to live in, food on the table and my education was always taken care of. I also grew up with a helper who cleaned the house. Hence, my peers simply categorized me as the spoiled child who had a silver spoon in his mouth.

. But the real privilege is when your parents raise you well. I was taught the value of a dollar pretty early. I was taught that I could not get anything I want just because I wanted it. I was also taught to study hard in school because an education is important. And yes, I was taught to be nice and kind to the less fortunate.

. What do privileges mean at all anyway when you feel like you have lost it all?

My dad died when I was only 21 right after I finished serving the army. No amount of privileges in life will ever prepare you for death or bring a loved one back to life.

Because of my privileges, I had the chance to try to be an entrepreneur on my own in my 20s. I went fucking broke. My lowest point was having $33 in the bank and the clinic did not accept my card when I was struck with hyperthyroidism.

That said, when you have health problems, you’d realize nothing matters except wanting to be healthy again. No amount of privileges matter when your health is on the brink.

I eventually went back to work anyway at a later age. I worked with new friends I made, many of whom made more money than me…
