This is a line from the Movie Chef (2014.)
Jon Favreau’s character finally spoke his mind to the “villain”, a reporter who gave him a bad review early on in the movie.
Here’s the script:
“What happened between us,
that really knocked me for a loop.
I mean, you robbed me of my pride
and my career and my dignity.
And I know people like you don’t
usually care about that kind of thing.
But you should know,
it hurts people like me.”
I found this to be really powerful because it’s not some cathartic moment where you stand up for yourself and shut your bully down on the spot.
You were already hurt.
You lost something.
You went through the pain, anger and humiliation.
