Look At How Far You’ve Come, Not How Far Ahead You Have

In 2023 alone:

. I’ve gone through three suppliers for my shirts, each time improving material and reducing costs. The learning journey was indeed fulfilling as it included negotiations and even travelling.

. I’ve sold over a 100 pieces, mostly to friends. The validation that is people like the design and idea behind it makes me very happy. The data derived to see what was moving and not is a fulfilling one. I’ve since gotten rid of my design altogether.

. I’ve established my social media channels for the brand. It still requires some consistency, but I’ve since learnt to make gorgeous HD videos with my phone and also got out of my comfort zone by speaking to the camera (kind of hate my voice. Cringe!)

. Kind of created an image where the One Dude movement has started. Many friends wear the shirt out. Many friends have spotted each other wearing it. The marketing is there!

. I also said fuck it and went back to work at my old club as a freelance promoter. The amalgamation of wearing my shirt and networking with others inside has been rather synergistic. I’ve since made tons of friends cause of the work, giving me a weekly routine and something to look forward to.
