If You Want To Be Inspired, Stop Looking At Content

In wanting to inspire myself to create super dope shit for my brand and business, I’d surf social media.

I would check out TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts to see what’s trending and what’s working right now.

Big mistake.

I realized it rarely ever works. At the most, you’d be inspired by some dopamine-hacking video that overwhelms your brain for a few minutes.

The problem is that you’re merely looking at content itself. Side effects include:

. Getting demoralized as you start to compare your life with others.

. Getting obsessed with vanity numbers only (Likes, followers, shares.)

. Being tempted into doing anything for said numbers even though you’re not passionate about it. E.g. Dance in public even though you don’t care about dance at all.

. Being tempted to copy and follow exactly, but that never works.

. Getting scammed because there are so many liars and bullshitters out there.

. Just wasting your time looking at stupid, cringey shit.

Stop looking at content. Look at intent.
