How To Not Feel Insecure About Growing Old So You Wouldn’t Whine, “Oh Man, I Am Old”
I got over thinking growing old and having a huge number attached to my life is a bad thing.
Every time my birthday hits, I feel awesome and better simply because I am better than the version of me the year before.
I attribute this to consistently meeting new, older people who are both going through some shit or having the time of their lives.
. I have older friends who suddenly got into a divorce and they feel they had to reset themselves in society.
. I have older friends who are still doing stupid, drunk shit (that hurts no one) and hence have epic stories to tell.
. I am also always inspired when I meet an older dude who’s consistently working out and maintaining their passion/art/craft.
How do you stop feeling insecure about growing older?
1) Always remember that there are older folks out there who relish acting like overgrown children when they’re letting loose. Having fun with your friends doesn’t have to end just because you’re getting older.
2) Open up and meet new people so you can run into said folks. You’re unfortunately going to lose friends as they embark on a new stage in their lives e.g. focusing on their family after marriage.
3) Embrace all the lessons you have had in life, even the ones which make you cringe now. You learnt and hence, you’re…
