Damn, Is This How I Look Like To Others?

When I started my first blog and ventured into my first entrepreneurial journey, I struggled a lot.

I was mostly broke.

I also felt lost most of the time as I had no clear sense of direction nor the confidence to be who I really wanted to be.

I found solace in travelling to Bangkok for short trips.

I’d day drink, starting from breakfast. I was on holiday after all and alcohol was cheap as shit.

Truly, the intoxication was an escape.

In order to replicate this sense of pleasure, I’d drink randomly at any time of the day back at home.

During one Christmas season, I volunteered to join my friend in helping to hand out food to the needy.

I arrived first at our meeting point.

I decided to get a can of beer from the convenience store.

I started drinking alone outside when this old, haggard dude spotting an unkempt beard approached me. He too, was drinking from a can of beer.

He started telling me about his life story of sorts, mostly about how he was in a gang and that he spent quite a bit of time in prison.

What I honestly remembered distinctly was how bad his breath was.

It wasn’t I-reek-of-alcohol bad.

It was I-drink-all-the-time-and-don’t-brush-my-teeth-and-don’t-drink-enough-water bad.
