Ten years ago, I got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.
Before going to the doctor, things got scary and weird, super weird.
. My hand tremors were getting worse.
. I experienced breathing difficulties.
. I lost a lot of muscles, even failing to do a single chin-up, something which I had been able to do since I was a kid.
. I lost over 7KG in the span of a month.
. My friends started commenting on my weight loss and asked if I was okay.
What did I do about it?
I saw a normal doctor in my neighbourhood, who didn’t think a thorough check was needed and so I believed him.
I tried different home remedies because why not? Home always fixed whatever that ails you.
Even though I was feeling scared and physically weak, I went for a trip to Thailand to see my then girlfriend. It was not a great trip.
After I came back, I went to work for an event for my cousin. It was exhausting.
Finally after, I decided it was time to go to a doctor at a government-subsidized clinic for a thorough check.
